Edith Cowan
2 August 1861- Was born in Glengarry near Geralton,Western Australia.
1868 - Mother dead, she joined to Perth Bording School.
1876 - Father's second marriage.
12 November 1879 - Married to James Cowan.
1880-1891 - They had three daughters and a son.
1890 - Perth police magistrate gave them permanent social and economic security.
1894 - First secretary of Karrakatta Women's Club and later Vice President and President.
1906 - Foundation member of the Children's protection Society.
1903-1912 - Overseas Britan and Europe.
1907 - passed State Children Act.
1911 - Created of the Western Australian National Council of Women
1913-21 - President of Western Australian National Council of Women
1915 - was appointed first woman to Children's Court bench.
1916 - First member of Anglican Social Questions Committee.
1920 - Was appointed O.B.E.
1921 - Selected one of five women candidate in election committee.
1923 - Introduced The Women League Status Act.
1926 - Founded Western Australian Historical Society.
1927 - Failed again the election.
1929 - Was active in planning the state centenary celebrations .
9 June 1932 - Died
